Hurley welcomed everyone and gave a brief history of how the tower became a reality. Construction began Jan. 11, 2021 and was completed on July 21, 2021. But the concept and idea of a training tower dates back years ago and it was Assistant Fire Chief Robert Strauch who was tasked with the job of overseeing the training tower project.
